I am trying to contact Acadian Families to participate in our "Fete de Heritage Day" @ La Maison de Begnaud ,,, this Sat. Oct 2nd 2010.
The day will have Music de Vieux Temps, Cajun and Creole, and Manage de Vieux Temps, and Geneology,, and for the Grand Finale,,, our 3rd annual "Tintamarre"

Found your web site from an inquire about someone. Both of my GGparents were born in Arichat,Richmond, Nova Scotia. GFather born was spelled Elize Boudreau and changed to Elias Boudrot in the US.
My Fathers Mother was born in Pictou County,Nova Scotia. Will fill in more info when I send membership application |

I happened upon your site while looking up St. Barthelemy Church in La Rochelle (a city my husband and I intend to visit this April while in France). You have a bit of information regarding Martin AuCoin & Marie Salle that was very interesting. Martin was my great, great (then 9 or 10 more greats, maybe more - I would have to dig out my book to see) grandfather, who we believe went to Port Royal sometime in the 1630's. Over the years my ancestors then all ended up in the Cheticamp area on Cape Breton Island. My Grandfather was Henry George Aucoin who married Sophie Chaisson.
